Milestones is situated in the centre of the town of Cinderford in Gloucestershire. It is registered to provide care for 4 adults with a Learning Disability. We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and have an overall rating of ‘Good’.

Our Facilities

The house is a town house with the communal lounge, kitchen and one bedroom on the middle floor as you enter the house. There is a balcony from the lounge which looks over the garden and further afield to the Forest of Dean. The rest of the rooms are on the first floor and there is a basement which gives you access to the gardens. All rooms are single occupancy and have access to a communal kitchen and lounge.

The people who live there are involved in the decisions made about the décor of their rooms as well as the remaining communal areas which further promotes a homely environment.

There is a clear focus on maximising independence at Milestones. This is reflected by the minimal staffing presence and expectations placed on the people who live there to take part in daily house hold skills such as cleaning, meal planning, shopping and cooking. Each person who lives there also has an individualised timetable which they create with the staff to maximise their existing and potential skills.

The timetable will involve a mixture of in-house activities with our instructors, as well as community based activities such as college courses, voluntary jobs and gardening projects.
